Saying Goodbye To The Norm

Out With the Old

In With the New

Hello, hello, it’s been a minute. I visited my website and was shocked that it had almost been an entire year since I had written anything. So I’m back and with some news.

If you read my (updated) bio you probably already saw that I’m slightly changing the direction of my social media accounts so I figured it’s time to follow suit with my website.

First off, I’ll start with a little bit of background. I am an introvert. I see how that could be confusing since my entire social media is based around myself, what I’m wearing, what I’m doing, etc. however as hard as it may be to believe, I do NOT like being the center of attention. I am definitely outgoing and can get along with almost anyone, however i NEED personal space and alone time to recharge. My energy comes from myself, not from others, which is why I very rarely will talk to you all on my stories. The idea of doing a Q & A with one of those little ask me a question boxes terrifies me. I don’t share a lot about my personal life because, shockingly, I am a pretty private person.

I’m not as comfortable as most other bloggers and influencers are about sharing feelings or anything personal. So because I struggle with this, I don’t do it. It’s not just on camera, it’s my personality IRL. Just ask John or anyone that knows me well - feelings and expressing them is difficult for me.

Now that you know something personal about me (gasp) I can explain why strictly “influencing” isn’t my thing. First off, I honestly do love social media from a creative aspect. I’m constantly finding inspiration on Instagram and Pinterest - whether it’s outfits, makeup or photos in general. I’ve learned that while I’m comfortable in front of the camera and do genuinely enjoy it, I equally love creating a beautiful shot. I like the creativity that goes into a photo and seeing my vision come to life is pretty cool. Which is why my focus has shifted slightly.

There’s such a negative stigma attached to influencers and to be completely honest i understand why. There are some that simply don’t care about the product they are promoting as long as there is a paycheck involved at the end of it. I understand we all need to make a living and support ourselves, but can we do it with a little bit of class? It isn’t all about money and likes - have some dignity and really only promote what you believe in. Also, why does everyone have to do the same thing? it’s frustrating to see the same stuff all over social media, where’s the creativity and the passion?

I’m not trying to make this post about others because it’s truly about me and what I want to do. And that’s create. Research, learn, and inspire. I want this space to showcase my work and create a portfolio to house what I truly love.

Let me create for you, and I hope you will continue to stop by and show support!
