Why IDGAF

IMG_5816.JPG

Ok, so that may not be entirely true, because I DO care about what CERTAIN people think, ie. my friends, family, people I have a mutual respect for. These are the people that matter to me, and I it’s important to take criticism and feedback from them. If I screwed up, did something wrong, these are the people that I want to hear it from - not some stranger or person that doesn’t know me enough to form a valid opinion.

This is where I have a idgaf attitude. It’s easy to overanalyze situations and worry about what others think, but if you know yourself, your values, and who you are to your core, then why the hell does it matter if someone doesn’t like you, or has a negative opinion of you?

I’ll be honest, I haven’t always thought this way. I feel like after I got married and had kids did I really realize that I truly no longer had time for bull sh*t anymore. I have more than enough going on in my own life to worry about what others think, or trying to please everyone. That being said, I’ll never go out of my way to make someone not like me, but sometimes my bluntness might not be everyone’s cup of tea, and that’s totally fine. As an adult I realized that it isn’t anything personal, but rather just that this is who I’ve been for so damn long, I’m not changing for a stranger or anyone else that doesn’t accept me for who I am.

People grow apart, and some people are never meant to be in each other’s lives. As long as you’re doing the right thing then who the f cares what someone else thinks? Definitely not me! Be a good person, do good to others, be selfless with those you love, and you’ll find what really matters most. And NEVER be afraid to stand up for yourself and what you believe in.
